Alright, let's talk about how Shrimps even got started. It wasn't some fancy idea cooked up in a boardroom; it was born out of a desperate craving. Our founder grew up down in Louisiana, where life just moves a little slower, and everything revolves around food and family. A weekend back home wasn't official unless the big pots were rolling in the backyard for a proper Crawfish Boil, Blue Crab Boil or Shrimp Boil.
For us, those boils were more than dinner. They were all-day Cajun hangouts—you had the music playing, the coolers full, and everybody just pulling up a plastic chair to talk trash and catch up. We were always the family nominated to handle the cooking for the whole neighborhood. We loved entertaining, and we knew the secret: our family's proprietary, secret blend of homemade boil seasonings. That spice is everything, and we've been perfecting it for generations. When our founder made the move to the stunning Florida Panhandle, everything was beautiful. The sand in Panama City Beach and Destin is unbelievable. But there was a gigantic, glaring hole in the heart of the coastal cuisine. We searched everywhere, from the tourist strips to the little side spots in Fort Walton Beach and Niceville to the famous 30A communities like Miramar Beach, Dune Allen, Gulf Place, Santa Rosa Beach, Blue Mountain, Seaside, Grayton Beach, and all the way through Rosemary Beach. The seafood was fresh, sure, but the "boils" were all wrong! They were bland, or worse—they were steamed! Steaming is a crime when it comes to a good boil. That powerful, authentic flavor was nowhere to be found.
Why Shrimps Was Born: We Had to Bring the Party
It was frustrating, trying to find an authentic Seafood Boil for our own friends and family gatherings here. After striking out everywhere along 30A and in Miramar Beach, we realized that if we couldn't find a caterer who understood the tradition, we had to become that caterer ourselves.
We saw all the vacation rentals, the big family reunions, and the beachfronts in Santa Rosa Beach, and we knew people wanted this kind of genuine, no-fuss party. They wanted the full Louisiana experience without having to shop for 20 different spices, buy giant pots, or deal with the messy cleanup.
